Each ml contains 600,000 IU of Spiramycin.
It is administered intramuscularly (IM). It is not administered intravenously.
Dosage for Acute Mastitis:30,000 IU/kg body weight (5 ml for every 100 kg) is administered twice, 24 hours apart.
Dosage for Respiratory Infections:100,000 IU/kg body weight (5 ml for a 30 kg weight) is administered twice, 48 hours apart.
No more than 15 ml of product should be administered to a single injection site. If the dose is divided, opposite sides of the neck should be used; if the dose is on the same side, there should be a minimum distance of 15 cm between injections.
It is used in lactating cows for the treatment of acute clinical mastitis caused by spiramycin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus strains; and in cattle for the treatment of respiratory system infections caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica.
When mastitis dose is administered (5 ml/100 kg):Cattle should not be slaughtered for meat and offal before 75 days. Milk obtained from cows should not be consumed by humans for 13.5 days (27 milkings).
When administered as a respiratory dose (5 ml/30 kg):Cattle should not be slaughtered for meat before 75 days. This dosage is not used in animals whose milk will be consumed by humans.
