Each tablet contains 115.388 mg of doxycycline hyclate, equivalent to 100 mg of doxycycline.
It is administered orally. The general dose is 10 mg doxycycline/kg body weight once daily (1 tablet/10 kg body weight) and should not be used for more than 5 days. For the treatment of Ehrlichia canis, it should be administered continuously at a dose of 10 mg/kg daily for 28 days. In severe and chronic cases, the duration may be extended at the physician’s discretion. To minimize gastrointestinal side effects, tablets should be given with food (at mealtime). For correct dosage, tablets can be broken into two equal parts.
It is used in dogs to treat respiratory system infections such as rhinitis and tonsillitis caused by microorganisms susceptible to doxycycline (Pasteurella spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Staphylococcus aureus and other Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.). It is also used in dogs to treat Ehrlichia canis infections caused by arthropods (ticks).
It is not used in animals intended for food production.
